Royal International Air Tattoo 2026
The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is the world’s largest military airshow, held annually at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England in support of The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. RIAT 2026 features the operational theme ‘Fighter Meet’, highlighting aircraft used throughout the last century for air-to-air combat, with modern fighter jets from across the globe including demonstrations from the Red Arrows and international aerobatic teams. A special sub-theme ‘Royal Flight’ celebrates 30 years since Royal status was granted to the event, featuring a gathering of VIP transport aircraft. The three-day event attracts 150,000-178,000+ spectators and showcases 200+ aircraft from 20+ countries in both flying displays and static exhibitions. RIAT features 7.5 hours of daily flying displays including fast jets, giant transporters, historic warbirds, and precision aerobatic performances. The event includes the Techno Zone with interactive STEM activities for young people, the Adrenalin Zone for thrill-seekers, the Vintage Village showcasing historic aviation, meet-and-greets with pilots and crews, and ground entertainment throughout. All proceeds support the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust’s STEM engagement programmes, which have reached 750,000+ young people aged 5-25 in recent years.
