AVBox – mission-ready autonomy retrofit

Cognata AVBox is a self-contained autonomy kit that mounts on an off-road platform (sensor suite + onboard compute + autonomy software) to deliver mission-level autonomy with minimal vehicle modification. It is built for unstructured terrain and operational constraints where you can’t assume lanes, traffic infrastructure, or “perfect conditions.”

• GPS-denied operation: maintains autonomous operation when GPS is degraded/denied/unavailable, using onboard sensing and intelligence to continue missions without external positioning signals.
• Mapless autonomy architecture: operates without reliance on high-definition maps, enabling navigation and decision-making in unknown or changing environments where prior mapping isn’t available.
• No continuous communications required: designed to keep moving and complete portions of a mission even without continuous remote operator communication;described as bridging the gap between teleoperation and autonomy when links are disrupted.
